The effect of high temperature on the variability of the progeny of virus-infected tomato genotypes was studied at the seed germination stage. As a result of thermal treatment, a differential response of genotypes to stress was found. In most cases, the temperature inhibited the growth of rootlet, reducing their size by 2.1 times compared with the control. The results of a two-factor analysis of variance revealed the decisive role of the genotype in the variability of the heat resistance of the progeny, which indicates the effectiveness in the identification and selection of resistant genotypes at seed germination stage. Based on the evaluation, heat-resistant genotypes were selected for further breeding. |
