The paper presents, in the first part, the biography of Dimitrie Bogos (1889-1946), a Bessarabian officer involved in the national renaissance of Bessarabian Romanians in 1917-1918. In the second part, the authors offer additional data, based on previously unpublished archive material, that contextualize certain moments of D. Bogos’s biography: the military institution he graduated from, the military units he was part of during the First World War, as well as the text of a letter that he sent to another nationalist militant, Pan. Halippa, where he suggests the creation of national military units of Bessarabian Romanians (eventually, it was D. Bogos himself who was tasked with creating them).
