The First World War was a bloody one, with great human losses, and the nations involved in it had to show resistance, confidence in their forces and their leaders to face it. Thus, strong propaganda was imposed in society to encourage the mobilization of human and economic resources. The same thing happened in the Russian Empire, including Bessarabia. By applying various technologies, Russian propaganda services tried to stop the decline of the population’s trust in Russian State structures. The author notes that Russian imperial propaganda was not prepared for the war. This fact, with serious consequences, was felt both in the Russian Empire as a whole and in Bessarabia. |
