T he WIPO Academy was founded with a
view to assist State Members in
acquiring specialized knowledge and competence
in the field of intellectual property.
Considering that WIPO rendered permanent
assistance to State Members in promoting
intellectual property, affording them formation
possibilities, the Academy, in this
respect, was created with a precise scope: to
regroup the formation activities and to
evaluate the manpower resources, constituting
a central coordinating mechanism.
The WIPO Academy proposes three main
types of formation in the field of intellectual
property, conceived to meet the needs of
different categories of users:
The distance learning program, suggesting
study module based on use of the Internet
and meant for different groups form diverse
regions of the world.
The professional formation program,
suggesting preparatory and up-grading
courses for chiefs and personnel of the
intellectual property offices, governmental
bodies and of other organizations.
The formation program on policy-related
aspects, meant for counsellors in intellectual
property, diplomats and other groups of
interested persons, providing for discussion
sessions in order to favor exchange of
opinions and to contribute to a better
understanding of the role of intellectual
property system in national and international
development. |
