Rezumat

The teaching profession is certainly not an easy one. Globalisation and changing world pose still new challenges to teachers. In 2020, one of such challenges was the suspension of educational activities followed by the introduction of distance learning. As a result, teachers had to employ their best personal and media competencies to provide attractive forms of teaching and keep up with students in the use of high technology. This article presents the strengths and deficiencies of distance education in Poland based on selection of Polish studies. It becomes clear that traditional education will no longer be the same, hence the need for reshaping of education to compensate for the asymmetry between the Z-generation students and their textbook-raised teachers.
