The richest source of semantic obscene words refers to the human body and its parts, as well as to its physiological functions, particularly, to those which are related to love. Thus, the phenomenon we are interested in, dates in linguistics over two hundred years. Although the selected examples represent "a fairly intimate zone", however, we must say that the component elements of euphemisms or ad hoc euphemisms remain foreign. Divorce, quarrels, private parts, genitals, etc. are constant sources of the origin of euphemisms. Modesty, religious and social prohibitions are the reasons for the use of euphemisms in this domain. |
