Ion I. Inculet (b. 1921 in Iasi - IEEE: M’54–SM’57–F’78–LF’89) received the B.S. degree in engineering from the Polytechnic University, Bucharest, Romania, in 1944, and the M.S. degree in engineering from Laval University, Quebec, QC, Canada, in 1962. He is currently a Professor of Electrical Engineering at The University of Western Ontario, London, ON, Canada, where he is also the Director of the Applied Electrostatics Research Centre. He has performed research for, and worked with, more than 26 companies around the world, including Shell Canada Resources Ltd., DuPont, Nordson Corporation, M&M Mars, Blue Circle Industries, and ELF Aquitaine. He was a Consultant to NASA on lunar and Mars explorations. He has published more than 100 articles in international journals, including the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRY APPLICATIONS, Archives of Environmental Health, and CIM Bulletin. He has participated in more than 15 international proceedings of electrostatics conferences in the U.K., Austria, France, Holland, Japan, etc., and practically all IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meetings from 1970 to 1997. He is an Editor Emeritus of the Journal of Electrostatics. Prof. Inculet became an Honorary Member of the Romanian Academy in 1992. He received an Honorary Doctorate in Technical Sciences from the Polytechnic University in 1993 and an Honorary Doctorate of Science from The University of Western Ontario in 1996. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. |
