Most of the surnames have originated from the common language. Also from the common language many composition elements, structures and models have been borrowed and over time developed. There are three main ways of forming surnames in anthroponomy: conversion, derivation and composition. Composed anthroponyms are formed by combining words based on the usual syntactic rules. While a compounded word,at the level of the common language, usually means something new, different from the meaning of its parts, in anthroponomy, the value of its elements is kept and together they form a semantic unity, grammatically constructed based on the common language patterns and semantically representing an explanatory micromodel. |
