Rezumat

The establishment of a modern system of performance-based public administration was determined by Lithuania’s aspirations for EU and NATO accession. The Lithuanian experience of performance management in the public sector and of appraisal of professional performance emphasizes the good practices of efficiency of the public administration and the increase of the competitive environment of the public sector in relation to the private one.
