The article discusses the main stages of the study of clothing of the Ukrainians of Moldova from the time of the birth of ethnographic science to the present day. At the initial stage (until the 19th century), information about the Ukrainian population of the region is fragmented. Then in the XIX - early XX centuries. during the formation and development of ethnographic science, the first special works appeared devoted to the study of traditional culture in Bessarabia, including the clothes of local Ukrainians. In the future, professional ethnologists are already engaged in these issues. A purposeful and systematic study of the clothes of local Ukrainians is carried out with the Republic of Moldova gaining independence. |
