Various cobalt(II, III) complexes with derivatives of piperidine-1-carbodithioic acid shown below (I-X) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental and X-ray powder diffraction analysis, IR, electronic spectra, molar conductance, mass and 1H NMR spectral data. Thermal decomposition behavior of complexes was investigated using TG and DTA techniquesfigureOn the basis of UV-vis spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements the following structures of complexes have been proposed: square-planar for I, octahedral for IIIV, tetrahedral for V-X. The influence of complexes IV-VI, IX on opportunistic bacteria Staphylococcus aureus growth has been studied. It has been shown the inhibition of test-strain biomass increase under concentrations of compounds 25, 50 and 100 µM. Complex IX was the most active towards S. aureus causing 81.5 % bacterial growth inhibition at minimal concentration. Other compounds demonstrated high antibacterial activity only at the concentration 100 µM. The inhibitory effect haven’t exceeded 76.2%.` |
