Wine tourism has ability to play a significant role at national and regional level in the development of sustainable tourism through its contribution to supporting economic and social bases of regions. This type of tourism is an important factor in sustainable rural development, most evident through job creation and for sale of local goods. From this point of view the economic sustainability, wine tourism can be considerate the basic business for many small businesses, especially those who have chosen winemaking as an option for lifestyle. Wine tourism also facilitates producer - consumer interaction and involves education on wine products and wine regions. Viticulture also has the ability to ensure sustainable land use in non-commercial areas, while tourism can help diversify land use patterns and maximize existing crop revenues. |
