Scientific topicality of this research is expressed mostly in the intention to realize a dedicated study that is intended to analyze historiography of evolution of the commercial relations between Bessarabia and Austrian Empire (1812-1867), which would facilitate covering existing vacuum in the modern history of Bessarabian commercial relations. Chronological segment under investigation in given study includes the period from XIXth century. Given limits include a period of deep transformations that significantly influenced evolutions of Bessarabian territory, begging with its annexations in 1812 and up until 1867 when was established the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary. The subject's historiography can be divided into four periods: 1. modern historiography, 2. interwar historiography, 3. post-war historiography, 4. contemporary historiography. This research consists in elucidation of historiography about economic relations established between Bessarabia and Austrian Empire, terms and conditions dictated by Russian commercial border policy in Bessarabian region, extracted from commercial border legislation, along with its impact on the commerce between Bessarabia and Austrian Empire. |
