Rezumat

Hollywood productions gained their popularity all over the world. Film distributors tend to advertise incoming foreign films via TV advertisments, on the pages of TV magazines or online. Any film is represented by its film title and a short film description or by a short trailer revealing the most impressive moments of the film. Most of the countries tend to keep the original title of the Hollywood films especially if it refers to a blockbuster, but sometimes the translation of a film title is not equivalent to the original title or the translation is not corresponding to the plot of the film at all. The aim of the given article is to highlight the issue of meaning distortion which occurs in translation of Hollywood film titles.
