Rezumat

The end of the last millennium knew a renaissance of interest for teaching foreign languages. The interest for learning and having knowledge of foreign languages is determined by the relations of today’s world which are: globalization, knowledge of other cultures, tourism, business, translation, the benefit of opportunities given by European market or even global labor market, integration in other communities etc. It turns out that, in the last years, many foreign citizens wish to receive Republic of Moldova’s citizenship. And the authorities of RM make efforts of integration by taking some practical measures to assure the studying of Romanian language in higher education institutions, language centers etc. adopting the programs and standards UE in this area. Therefore, the discipline “Romanian language for foreign students” implies a complex structure of studying phonetics (pronunciation and intonation), Grammar (morphology and syntax), Semantics (analysis of speech). The fact that in all the countries in the world, the foreign languages are studied by millions of people, but only a small percentage of these people get to complete the studies in order to be able to use effectively the studied language, makes to appear as more modern methods and techniques that would help studying foreign language efficiently. Year by year, new methods and techniques for learning Romanian language for foreign citizens appear, which we mentioned in this article. In conclusion, I may mention the fact that these times are favorable for learning foreign languages. The teacher of Romanian language for foreign students must have, apart from the knowledge of language, the multitude of modern methods and techniques, a very good pedagogical training both theoretical and practical one. Knowledge of Romanian language assumes to have the control of: vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and intonation that are specific to the Romanian language, the ability to receive and understand oral messages, the ability to receive and understand written messages (to read), to express orally (to talk) and in writing (to write) in Romanian language.
