The intercultural theory of communication defines “Passeur culturel” (cultural mediator) as being a moving vehicle for spiritual values. However in our case, we identify a multiple cultural impact of mediation. Therefore, Elisabeth Pauline Ottilie Luise zu Wied – Queen consort of Romania as the wife of King Karl Anton de Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, introduces consistent Western civilization elements to her Court and country of adoption. Carmen Sylva, as per the Queen`s widely known literary name, substantially supports the promotion of the Romanian spiritual and cultural values in the West (through translations), while through her own works in German, French and Romanian, she outlines the image of the queen-poet, the eloquent cultural ambassador of the country of adoption. Our research illustrates this perspective through the synthetic presentation of the social and cultural activity and through references to works that are still waiting for their contemporary editors.
