In the last decades, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) has attracted much interest and awareness. ESP courses are offered by many language schools worldwide. Yet, despite this enormous interest, ESP is an area often neglected by linguistic researchers. That’s why one of the aspects that is cleared up in this article is what ESP represents. Another question that is treated here is how English courses contribute to the future ICT specialists’ formation. There are considered some guidelines that English teachers should focus on, in terms of teaching specific vocabulary and methodology, in order to assist teachers and students to become professionals in the competitive world of ICT. This article also reports on the results of a five – days training aimed at developing English teachers’ communicative competence by focusing on ICT vocabulary. |
