This article represents an overview of the twenty editions of the Scientific Symposium. Bibliological Year. Via the proposed topics the evolution of library in the Republic of Moldova can be traced in the years that followed the declaration of state independence. The first edition of Bibliological Year 1991 totaled the activity of the National Library System in the first year of library reform. The following editions have been considering various aspects of librarianship field, contributing to the development of library activity, the promotion of advanced experiences and of quality practices tested in the libraries both in the country and abroad. The chronicle highlights the key moments of those twenty editions of Bibliological Year, and serves as a proof of the consistency, dedication and devotion invested by the staff of the National Library of Moldova in the maintenance and development of this tradition, which has meant a lot to the development of libraries and the affirmation of the librarianship profession.
