The article analyses the motivational potential of local government staff according to the results of a survey which was conducted among the officials of local self-government within the industrial city. By the motivational potential the author means the combination of motivated workers, guided by the goals of the organization. Determination of the motivational potential of local government officials was conducted in two phases. The first step is to identify the motivational needs of employees, the second – to measure the degree of satisfaction of the identified needs. Social фтв professional expectations and professional career motivation have been revealed as well as motives which complement the selection on the basis of the first two groups of factors, specify their influence on certain categories of workers. The directions of professional motivation improvement of local government officials have also been proved. |
