Rezumat

Currently, the agro-food sector is oriented towards the selection and cultivation of new varieties of plants that accumulate essential oils with high healing properties. Due to continuous progress and development, the food industry requires more and more species and quantities of aromatic plant biomass with seasoning properties that give foods special taste properties. In this sense, it is necessary to identify, study and develop technologies for obtaining and cultivating new aromatic and seasoning plants. One of the aromatic plants with pronounced food properties is the species Helichrysum italicum (Roth) Guss. The interest of selecting and cultivating the species Helichrysum italicum (Roth) Guss is related to its beneficial medicinal properties, its content of essential oil rich in biologically active substances, its food properties and last but not least its ability to adapt to climate change conditions and edaphic. As a result of the research carried out over a long period, the variety Auriu 21 - Helichrysum italicum (Roth) Guss created by LCŞ „Biochimia plantelor” at the Agrobiological station of the State University of Moldova was selected. The variety has a height that reaches 60 cm, being covered with ferms, it has a gray-green color. It develops a strong, hard, even woody root. The variety blooms in the second half of June to the end of July, it has yellow flowers, appearing in the form of small heads. The establishment of plantations can be carried out on south-sloping land with stron insolation. The variety can be cultivated in the conditions of the Republic of Moldova, in the experimental batches a productivity of 7-8 t/ha of inflorescences was certified. The variety accumulates essential oil in quantities of 7-8 kg/ha and provides vegetable product for the food industry of 1.4 t/ha that can be used as a food supplement for health fortification. The Golden variety 21 - Helichrysum italicum (Roth) Guss is selected in the Republic of Moldova in 2021 and is proposed in the agricultural circuit as a hetero-oleaginous crop with added value, resistant to drought and with pronounced anti-erosion capabilities.
