Scientific thinking is a strategic priority at the national and international levels. Functional illiteracy, which refers to people who can read but do not understand what they read, has reached global highs, and the measures imposed do not offer long-term prospects. One of the solutions proposed by the authors would be to make the scientific thinking of teachers more efficient. This article summarizes the results of a survey on how teachers see scientific thinking and why they actually need it. The conclusions regarding the obtained data lead the author to the conclusion that the sporadic knowledge of concepts does not allow teachers to develop in the direction of the efficiency of scientific thinking, nor to draw clear objectives regarding improvement and continuous training. Thus, impediments related to the human factor are created in implementing policies regarding the development of scientific thinking, and the solutions are found in the approach to educational policies and in implementing new pedagogical technologies. |
