Rezumat | ||||||
A large corpus of empirical evidence suggests a reciprocal relation between writing and motivation. The current study examined the role of confidence (in writing strategies and tasks) and goal orientation in University students' attitudes toward writing. Participants were 286 Portuguese university students (M = 21.47 years, SD = 4.82) attending higher education institutions located in the Central region of Portugal. Overall, results from Multiple Regression Model (MRM) showed that confidence in writing strategies is a better predictor of attitudes than mastery goals. Implications for practice and research are discussed. |

Participanții au fost 286 de studenți portughezi (M = 21,47 ani, SD = 4,82) care frecventează instituții de învățământ superior situate în regiunea centrală a Portugaliei. În general, rezultatele modelului de regresie multiplă (MRM) au arătat că încrederea în strategiile de scriere este un predictor mai bun al atitudinilor decât obiectivele de stăpânire.
