The purpose of the study is to identify the attitude of students of sports universities to the modern transformation of the values of the Olympic movement. Methods. 2838 students of 28 sports universities and faculties took part in the sociological study. The questionnaire contained 24 questions concerning the identification of students' opinions on the problems of commercialization, professionalization, the use of doping and therapeutic exceptions, transgenderism, the relationship between Olympic sports and health, the preservation of the humanistic idea of Pierre de Coubertin, the transformation of Olympic values in modern society.Research results and conclusions. According to the study, the majority of students have a positive attitude to the preservation of the idea of Olympism. The perspective of the development of the Olympic movement is to resolve the contradictions between the modern transformation of Olympic values and the idea of Pierre de Coubertin on the basis of reducing the level of politicization, commercialization, professionalization of Olympic sports, the development of an ethical doping code, strengthening the rules for the admission of transgender people to participate in the Olympic Games. |
