This article deals with the methodological and theoretical problems of studying the phenomenon of globalization. The problems that are analyzed in the literature relate to the essence and the successesin the development of the globalized world, but also elucidated to its negative phenomenon. It is noted that there is no unity of opinions on different aspects of globalization, which denotes not only the novelty ofthissocial phenomenon, but also the fact that thisissue is not fully studied and there is an imperative need for itsresearch. The author demonstratesthe need to develop a complex methodology forstudying globalization and its possible outcomes that may favor the development of the most important objectivesfacing the international community to counteract the negative phenomena that arise from its triggering. The methodological principles that research phenomena of globalization must determine are: the fundamental analysis of the „globalization” category; strengthening the interdisciplinary character of these studies; the polyparadigmatic character of the globalization research, the synthesis of different methodological guidelines; the critical approach and the well-founded use of conceptions, notions and theoretical aspects developed by researchers; the integrity of the world; the systemic character of the economic and socio-cultural relations of countries and peoples; the mutual conditioning of local and global processes ofsocial development; axiology; gnoseology; historiosophy; anthropology.
