| Rezumat | ||||||
The main goal of this article is to offer a glimpse of the notion “linguistic picture”. We will try to explain briefly what it means and give a few details about its origin. By “linguistic picture” one can understand the cultural specificity of the concept of “dream”, in our case, in English, French and Romanian, being necessary to offer a brief definition of the “concept” and, implicitly, of the “conceptual metaphor”. We will also come up with examples of cognitive prototypical scenarios which illustrate the cultural specificity of the concept of “dream” as it is found in various definitions. |
