Pulmonary ventilation function of patients with mild COPD
For patients with mild COPD a comprehensive functional-diagnostic study of the system
of respiration has been conducted (spirometry, body-plethysmography, pharmacological
bronhodilatation test with β2-agonist, pulse oximetry, the identification of the average index for
the group of shortness of breath). It has been established that stage I of COPD is characterized by
a slight restriction of air flow rate (FEV1/FVC<0,70; FEV1≥80% predicted) and/or restructuring
of the residual lung capacity (increased residual lung volume and reduced amount of expiratory
reserve) demonstrating the early manifestations of emphysema. |
