Rezumat | |||||||
The effect of post-harvest application of 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) on ethylene emission in winter cultivars ('Idared', 'Golden Delicious', 'Florina', and 'Reinette 'Simirenko') was investigated. The fruits were harvested in the stage of maturity and half of them were treated with 1-MCP (preparative form 'Fitomag', 0.44 g·m-3, „Fito-Mag”, Moscow, Russian Federation). Significant differences were found in the intensity of ethylene release between treated and untreated fruits. During storage, the highest emission intensity of ethylene was characteristic of untreated fruits. Post-harvest treatment with Fitomag suppresses the ripening processes of apple fruits, preserving their commercial quality. |
