This study investigates at the relationship between newborn children’s physical development rates and the basic morphofunctional characteristics of their mothers. The results demonstrated a significance, but not a high correlation of mothers’ signs, with the amount of r = 0.32, often having smaller values. More propotent correlations are shown between the newborns’ growth and weight with body weight and pelvis size of the mother. As a whole, it should be noted that to correlation coefficient r = 0.3 the determination coefficient 0.09, is corresponded, that is why any of the mothers’ signs determines the sign variations of newborns for not more than 9%.

В работе изучена зависимость между показателями физического развития новорожденных детей и основными морфофункциональными характеристиками их матерей. Полученные результаты обнаруживают статистически достоверные, однако невысокие корреляционные связи с признаками матерей, достигающие уровня r = 0,32, но чаще имеют меньшие значения. Следует отметить, что коэффициенту корреляции r = 0,3 соответствует коэффициент детерминации 0,09, поэтому любой из признаков матерей определяет вариацию признаков новорожденных не более, чем на 9%.
