D. Matcovschi’s theatrical discourse from the point of view of directorial vision and in relation to the social and cultural-theatrical contextuality constitutes the research subject of the present article. On the basis of the historical method of investigation and of theatrical historiography, aspects of the scenic accomplishment of the dramaturgical texts of D. Matcovschi are highlighted, depending on the social-cultural imperatives of the time, the artistic visions of the directors and the specific development of the theatrical art. Reference is made to the stagings made by V. Apostol, I. Bordeianu and I. Stihi (State Academic Musical-Dramatic Theater) and I. Todorov (“Luceafărul” Theater) in 1975–1990, as well as to the re-contextualization of the dramaturgical discourse of the author at the contemporary stage in the vision of director A. Cozub at the National Theater “M. Eminescu” (2010 – present). We find that in the first period, the performances were characterized by the contrast between the mythological-poetic scenography, the lyric-dramatic element of the action and the rough realism of the presented fact of life. In the direction of A. Cozub, the metaphoric poetic element in the dramatic action is more faded, emphasizing the motif the world as the theater and another – the overturned world |
