The article “Interdisciplinary approach to the study of cultural terms” substantiates the relevance and prospects of the ethnolinguistic approach, which allows applying the methods of linguistic research to the material of traditional culture. An analysis of the cultural terms çörek, pita and kolaç in the Gagauz family and calendar rituals made it possible to reveal the semantics and symbolism of ritual actions with dough products denoted by these cultural terms and to determine their ritual meaning.
