Rezumat | ||||||
The EU's economic integration has been designed to be on levels ranging from the EU to relatively small administrative divisions. Classification has been made on the basis of certain criteria out of which population numbers prevail. The NUTS classification divides the national territories of EU members into three levels, 1, 2 and 3 so that within each member state are found three types of administrative divisions. There are differences in development between European regions, in some cases extremely high. In the paper we use official data provided by Eurostat to highlight regional development gaps in terms of their competitiveness and the impact of cohesion funds on development. |
