The plasma monoamine precursors, tyrosine, phenylalanine and tryptophan contents and GABA level where measured in rats under three different stress conditions. The plasma concentration of free phenylalanine and tryptophan was found to increase (p<0,05) after immobilization but tyrosine to large neutral amino acids ratio decreased (LNAA) 2 fold. GABA level was signifi cantly (4,5 fold) higher control group. Chronic painfull stress conditions led to augmentation in tyrosine and tryptophane contents; phenylalanine/LNAA ratio was redused (2,8 fold), tyrosine/ LNAA ratio increased (1,5 fold); GABA content decreased considerably (3,5 fold). A signifi cant elevation in branched-chained amino acids (BCAA) contents were found in rats plasma after 2 days of food deprivation. This should lead to an decrease in the rate of transport of tryptophan, phenylalanine and tyrosine across the blood-brain barrier; in the same group of nutritional privated rats GABA level was found twice higher control. |
