Rezumat

Residents of the planet are traveling more and more for cognitive, business, religious, educational, entertainment, sports and other purposes. The number of international tourist arrivals has steadily increased, and in the first decade of the 21st century, according to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) data and it will exceed one billion. More than two billion people today travel to their own countries, beeing involved in domestic tourism. The Global Tourism Ethics Code proclaimed that „the right to tourism” enjoys every person on our planet, and its tourism resources are the common heritage of humankind; communities in whose territory the objects of tourist heritage are located have special rights and duties in connection with them. According to the Code, the „right to tourism” includes, among other things, the right to preserve the cultural identity of the nations and peoples of the Earth, as well as the unspoiled cultural and human environment. The aim of the research is to investigate the cultural-historical heritage as a factor for increasing the tourist potential and attractiveness.
