Rezumat

Prevalence of cardiorenal diseases is increasing and is accompanied by high mortality and morbidity. The aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence of type 2/4 cardiorenal syndrome in heart failure patients with reduced ejection fraction. The retrospective study included 194 heart failure patients with reduced and moderate-reduced ejection fraction hospitalized in January 2014 – December 2015 in the Department of Cardiology, CH “Sfanta Treime”. 194 patients were evaluated: 113 subjects with moderate-reduced ejection fraction (EF) 40-49%; and 81 subjects with reduced EF <40%. Patients with moderate-reduced EF were 67.89 y.o., 49.6% were men. The estimative glomerular fi ltration rate (GFRe) was 73.15 mL/min/1.73 m2, GFRe ≤ 60 mL/ min/1.73 m2 was recorded in 30.9%. The proteinuria prevalence was 62.8% and 78.57% in those with GFRe ≤ 60 mL/ min/1.73 m2. Patients with reduced EF had mean age 64.69 years, 74.07% men. GFRe was 76.37 mL/min/1.73 m2, GFRe ≤ 60 mL/min/1.73 m2 was recorded in 28.39% cases. The proteinuria prevalence was 77.8% in the sample, and 100% in those with GFRe ≤ 60 mL/min/1.73 m2. The results confi rm that the prevalence of renal impairment in heart failure is high, whether we focus on GFR or proteinuria.
