In this paper „Tamarix - Vâlcele” area (92ha), consisting of forest, shrub, grass, aquatic and palustre ecosystems, is described. In this area 148 vascular plant species, of which 14 trees, 8 shrubs and 126 grasses were identified. Seven plant species with different rarity levels were revealed. All plant communities from „Tamarix -Vâlcele” area were attributed to 12 different plant associations, of which 9 alliances, 9 orders and 6 classes of vegetation. This area comprises valuable elements, which require protection, thus we propose to institute „Tamarix -Vâlcele”as protected area.
