Studying and determining the etymology of the terms is not a strictly philological concern, since it also regards other fields. It happens because the origin of terms that refer to military ranks reflects not only the actual history of words taken separately, but the actual history of the society in different times and ages. The fields of social activity represented by the terms are an expression of the metamorphoses produced at the political, economic, cultural, military levels and so on. The terminological toolbox of the specialized languages contains the entire history of various specialized fields with their inherent achievements and contacts, reflecting the entire evolution and development of the nation. |
