The article “Concept about sovereignty: history and actuality” addresses a current issue, significant for Republic of Moldova. The concept about sovereignty is developed as a result of essential content modifications in the report state-community. The need to revalue the theoretical interpretations of the concept of sovereignty is reasoned by the influences of sovereignty on mentality, civic activity, and appreciation of one’s position in the society. In conclusion, the author notes that proper understanding and appreciation of the phenomenon of sovereignty is one of the conditions to overcome socio-political crisis in Republic of Moldova. Sovereignty assigns the legitimacy of state power, without which no political system can operate efficiently. Assimilation of the concept of state sovereignty and creation of conditions for its manifestation in the political and social reality of Moldova is significant both for the political class, and for every citizen.
