The rivers Dniester (83,6%) and Prut (1%) are principal sources of water supply in the Republic of Moldova. Other sources constitute underground waters - 15,2% (bore holes and wells). Wells water, utilized by rural population, as sources in water supply 85-90% don’t corresponding to potable quality regards sanitary-chemical indicators. The present work includes water quality investigations and has aim at reveal of local sources in river Prut hydrographic basin (Briceni, Edinet and Riscani districts) for water potable ensuring in villages. Chemical composition of investigated spring’s water shows that in district Briceni 65% of springs are polluted with nitrogen compounds. In Edinet and Riscani - 14% and respectively 4% of water sources are polluted with nitrogen compounds. Water of only 32% of springs is conformity with standard of drinking water.
