Rezumat

The article includes the experimental data on nitrate leaching in a long-term experiment with different systems of fertilization in crop rotation on cernozem soils from Balti steppe. Losses of nitrates have been found even on unfertilized plots. The lower is the vegetation period of crops or the shorter is the period between sowing and harvesting of crops the higher are the amount of unused nitrates. The dangers of nitrates losses are very high in the cool seasons of the year when the precipitations are higher than evapotranspiration, specially when the stocks of soil moisture are higher than field capacity of the soil. The losses of nitrates in average for 14 years on unfertilized plots consisted for different crops from 0,5 for 7,4 kg N-NO3/ha. The potential for nitrates leaching is higher on fertilized plots. The share of soil fertility in productivity formation for the whole crop rotation and the nitrogen use efficiency for different crops were determined. A proper crop and soil management can find solutions for preventing nitrate leaching in modern farming systems.Tables – 9; diagrams – 1; bibliographical sources – 10.
