In this article “Gagauz folk dances and its role in preserving ethnocultural identity”, the author examines the features of the Gagauz dance culture in the context of the study on ancient dances and the national identity of the Gagauz. The description of movements in Gagauz folk dance has been analyzed. The relevance and development of the folk dance is considered, attracting public interest in folk choreography, which makes the preservation of folk dances relevant, as well as the development of this type of folklore has been analyzed.
