Rezumat

The communicative dimension of political life in the contemporary society gains a particular significance and a special status. In the new circumstances, the mass media mechanisms have a leading role, contributing in this way at the establishing of the dynamics level and transformations that are taking place in the society of transition. Being a determinant factor in the political involvement of the mass media in our country, the political communication is represented by various forms of interaction between the political organizations, citizens/voters and the media. Until two decades ago, the political communication in the Republic of Moldova was dominated by a linear interaction, the relationship between politics sphere and citizens being a “top – down” type. Today, the linear model of the political communication is considered to be exceeded and is replaced by a new model in which the mass media plays a reflector role, and also a “showcase” role promoted by political principles. Thus, the relationship between the mass communication and the political one becomes stronger, through the development of representative forms of democracy and through the development of mass media, as well thanks to the active participation of citizens in political life. This shows a degree of political awareness that can be defined as a set of representations, ideas, concepts, knowledge and attitudes of social subjects that notify the political sphere, manifest attitudes towards political power and political participation. The political consciousness in the Republic of Moldova is an elective and transitional one. In general, the mechanisms and the dynamics that are governing the contemporary political communication include basic elements of strategic political marketing and new online communication practices.
