Job satisfaction is a central topic in the field of organizational psychology, representing a psychological variable that influences employee performance in the workplace as well as organizational effectiveness. This paper presents empirical results regarding the job satisfaction of teachers in two pre-university institutions in urban and rural environments. Following the experimental approach, it was found that job satisfaction related to compensation and promotion is strong among 36.6% of teachers in rural areas and 36.6% in urban areas, while satisfaction related to leadership and interpersonal relationships is observed among 70% of rural teachers and 53.4% of urban teachers. Teachers in rural areas are more concerned with basic needs and, at the same time, more satisfied with the social climate and working relationships. Teachers in urban areas have a more positive attitude toward their work, perceive it more positively as a source of fulfillment, have a greater desire to influence others, and are more satisfied with how work is organized and carried out. |
