In the present essay, I researched the importance and necessity of using information technology in everyday life because new technologies have the power to change paradigms and behaviors. It simplifies our life - digital interactions simplify the relationship between citizens - administration, administration - economy. It optimizes our processes, which means cost and time reductions. It increases the transparency of the decision-making process and of spending public money. As a conclusion, the governmental and local authorities in România must adapt to the technological reality, gain experience, improving the financial, material and personnel means to the current tasks, obtaining a public administration: evolutionary, open, flexible, responsible, transparent, goal-oriented, objective, integrated with the databases of other public institutions.
