Various aspects of waviness generated on the grinding workpiece and wheel circumferences are investigated with the aim of
studying chatter vibration. For such a study it is also essential to consider the coefficients of wheel contact stiffness and grinding wheel wear. It is shown that these coefficients are non-linear in character and therefore they influence the linearity
of the basic equation describing the vibratory motion. Nonuniform hardness and unbalance in a grinding wheel are studied as possible sources of accelerating the growth of self-exited vibrations. |
