Rezumat

The scientific article focuses on the remarkable career of Larisa Popov, one of the most successful rowers in the history of Moldovan sport. At theromoting the sport and its values in society. 1980 Moscow Olympics, Larisa Popova won the gold medal in the academic rowing event, competing against Elena Hlopțeva of Belarus, demonstrating excellence in performance and commitment to country and home. The article highlights important aspects of Larisa Popov’s sporting career, including her intense training, advanced rowing techniques and physical abilities. It also explores her contribution to the development of academic rowing as a sporting discipline and her influence on young rowers.In addition, the article may examine scientific aspects of academic rowing, such as the biomechanics and physiology involved in this elite sport, to show how Larisa Popov’s performance has been supported by scientific research.
