In interpersonal communication, words are not enough. Sometimes the appeal to words is even useless (when there is noise, when the distance between the interlocutors is large, when we do not know the language spoken by the other, etc.) Gestures and posture, together with facial expressions, use of space, eye contact, body touches, clothing, smells, the tone of voice, the representation of time accompany and sometimes replace the words. All these make up the non-verbal communication that helps the preschooler to enrich his communication culture.
