In this article, the author examines the criminological picture of domestic violence. Attention the focused on the fact that domestic violence is one of the most latent criminal offenses. The noted that the number of criminal offenses in the form of domestic violence is quite significant, but over the past year, this figure the characterized by a decrease in the total number of criminal offenses of this type. It was also note that in most cases the perpetrators in cases of domestic violence are men. The author concludes that domestic violence is not a problem of an individual family, but it is a problematic phenomenon of society around the world. Domestic violence has no borders, and therefore the exchange of positive experience between countries in combating this negative phenomenon will help develop effective measures to reduce the level of domestic violence.
