Rezumat

The first P-monodentate phosphite, tricyclophosphite (II) based on vicinal diol of monoterpene series was synthesized with rhodium and palladium. A solution of ligand in CHCl3 was added within 30 mm dropwise with stirring to a solution of [Rh(CO)2Cl]2 in CHCl 3. The reaction mixture was continued to stir for 30 minutes more, then a sample of a solution of the complex was transferred to 10-mm tubes or cells, and the NMR or IR spectra were recorded. The reaction mixture in synthesis with palladium was stirred for 30 min. and the solvent was distilled off in a vacuum to a volume of ̃2 ml, and the product was precipitated with a hexane-ether solution. Mass spectra were recorded by the electron impact technique on a varian MAT instrument. The long-wavelength region in the IR spectrum of palladium compound exhibited two equally intense adsorption bands corresponding to the configuration of the chloro ligands.
