Rezumat

The famous singer Sigismund Zalevschi was born in Balti in 1885. He was sent to study at music school in Chisinau, then he studied singing in Rome together with the well-known barytone A. Cottogni. He undertook numeous tours through Europe , showing off in various classical works. He was distinguished, in particular, by his brilliant interpretation of the role of Boris Gadunov in the work with the same title written by M. Mussorgsky. From 1923 until his death(1947) he worked successfully with the Romanian Opera in Bucharest , acting there as a chief director.
