This research approach of animal genetic resources biodiversity in economic terms, revaluation of the relationship between man and nature, calls for solidarity between generations, as the only viable option for sustainable development. In this paper were followed the economic theories and concepts in relation to biodiversity, and the use of biodiversity animals in specific economic activities of farming, aiming their status current of livestock breeds through specific indicators of biodiversity animals. Were accessed the databases FAO, for analysis of conservation domestic animals at particular risk. The economic value of biodiversity is evident through the direct use of its components: nonrenewable natural resources and renewable natural resources –represented the species of plants and animals used as food or for energy production or extraction of substances such as those used in Food and beverages, pharmaceuticals or cosmetics. For now we cannot say that they know all the valences of any species and how they can be used or accessed in the future. The loss of any of them limited opportunities to develop humanity and efficient use of natural resources. Equally important is the role of biodiversity in ensuring the ecosystems services provided by such as pedoclimatic regulation, water purification, and diminuend of natural disasters.
